![]() ![]() drive.html Finally now this feature makes sense! Hope that helps. Looking through the forum and external sides I found an answer: For windows use: (works great!) For Linux use. I didn't need to install any packages, just install the java QPKG, then crashplan QPKG - then the client on your mac/pc.įreshMike wrote:I was looking for an Answer regarding this problem, seems QNAP did not develop an external Application to access encrypted drive/partition on a remote machine (windows, linux). Crashplan will operate offline if you are backing-up to / restoring from a local drive The Crashplan QPKG, while not the simplest only took about 1 hour to get working for me. I think I will hold off on that as I do not want to mess around with my production NAS like that. You have to install some Linux packages manually though SSH and then install/configure crashplan though the command line as well. ![]() Getting crashplan to work as a QPKG looks pretty involved. If I decide to buy, maybe I will do that. ![]() They have an option to mail an entire hard drive to them to get the initial dump of data to them within a few days. So far so good! Although, it says it will take 4 months to upload the initial 600GB of data. I connected a laptop to the NAS and I am running it to see how well the product works. ![]() Right now I am trying the 30 eval of crashplan. If the Internet was down, there would be no way to restore. It is cloud storage, so there the data is offsite. Guitman423 wrote:AdamskiB: I would assume Crashplan would not operate offline. ![]()
